This Privacy Policy explains how [NewEra LLC] ("NewEra," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website, tax estimation tools, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. This may include your name, email address, business or profession, and the financial figures you enter into our tools (such as income, business expenses, filing status, and state of residence), if and when you create an account, subscribe, contact us, or otherwise provide it directly.

Free estimator inputs. As of the Effective Date, information you enter into our free tax estimator (income, expenses, filing status, state, and similar figures) is stored only in your own browser, using local storage, and is never transmitted to or stored on NewEra's servers. We have no access to this information and cannot see, recover, or use it. This may change as the Service evolves — for example, if account-based features are introduced — and any such change will be reflected in an updated version of this Policy before it takes effect.

Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store your full card number. Stripe's own privacy practices govern the information you provide directly to them; see Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Information collected automatically. We may automatically collect limited technical information such as browser type, device type, general location (derived from IP address), and how you interact with our website, for purposes such as improving the Service and diagnosing technical issues. As of the Effective Date, we do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell personal data, and this Policy will be updated before that changes, if it ever does.

Referral program data. If you use our referral program, we may associate a referral code or link with your browser (via local storage) to track which visitors arrived through a referral. This is not tied to your real-world identity unless you separately provide it to us (for example, by emailing to claim a referral reward).

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and improve the Service
Process subscription payments and manage billing
Respond to your questions and support requests
Communicate with you about your account or the Service
Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

Service providers who help us operate the Service, such as Stripe for payment processing and our hosting provider, under obligations to protect your information
Licensed professionals (such as a CPA or EA) if and when you choose to engage them through a CPA Review offering — information you choose to share with that professional is between you and them
Legal authorities, if required to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of NewEra, our users, or others

4. Cookies and Local Storage

Our website uses browser local storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to remember your preferences, save your estimator inputs on your own device, and support the referral program. You can clear this at any time through your browser's settings, though doing so will also clear any saved inputs or preferences.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations after that. Information stored only in your browser's local storage (such as free-tool inputs) remains on your device until you clear it yourself; we have no ability to retain or delete it on your behalf because we never receive it.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Texas residents. NewEra is based in Texas, and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) gives Texas residents the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data or its use in targeted advertising or certain profiling. As a small business under U.S. Small Business Administration size standards, NewEra currently qualifies for the TDPSA's small-business exemption from most controller obligations. That exemption does not extend to selling sensitive personal data without consent — a line we don't cross anyway, since we don't sell personal data at all, sensitive or otherwise. If our size or practices change such that the exemption no longer applies, we will update this Policy and our practices accordingly, including honoring Global Privacy Control and other recognized universal opt-out signals where required.

Residents of other states. A number of other states — including California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and roughly twenty states in total as of 2026 — have their own comprehensive privacy laws giving residents similar rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses of their personal data. To make a request under any applicable law, contact us at the email below. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law.

All users. Regardless of where you live, you can ask us at any time what information we hold about you (which, for most current users, is limited to the account and billing information described above) and ask us to correct or delete it, subject to what we're legally required to retain.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Automated and AI-Assisted Features

Some features of the Service (such as deduction suggestions) use automated, rules-based, or AI-assisted logic to generate output based on the information you provide, rather than a human reviewing every result before you see it (unless you're on a plan that includes CPA Review). We are telling you this directly, consistent with the spirit of Texas's AI-transparency expectations under the Texas Responsible AI Governance Act (TRAIGA), so you know when you're looking at an automated result rather than a professional's personal judgment.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. International Users

The Service is intended for use within the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, such as posting the updated policy on our website with a new "Last Updated" date, before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
